The Learning × Public Design International Network is a global and multidisciplinary community of scholars, practitioners and educators with a shared interest in advancing design.
The network brings together design researchers, educators and practitioners, providing a platform for sharing knowledge, connecting communities, and building the field of Public Design. It supports the exchange of research and reflective practice across sectors and countries, with an emphasis on inclusive, situated, and impactful approaches to learning and becoming public designers.
We believe that centring learning helps us strengthen the practice of Public Design. This includes attending to:
- How people become public designers — formally or informally.
- How institutions build design capabilities at scale.
- How knowledge is shared, translated, and valued.
- How educational offerings align with practice needs.
- How public designers engage diverse publics as co-learners.
